Our History
It all started in 1968 when our founder, James Smith, started a small auto parts store in his hometown. As an avid boating enthusiast, James saw a need for reliable and affordable marine batteries. He began selling marine batteries in his store which quickly became a top-selling item.
In 1972, James decided to focus exclusively on batteries. He opened the first Everstart Battery® retail location, offering a wide selection of top-brand automotive and marine batteries. Through exceptional customer service and competitive pricing, Everstart Battery® grew rapidly as the community’s trusted source for batteries.
Over the next decade, Everstart Battery® expanded to 25 retail locations across the state. We also began producing our own line of branded batteries, engineered to deliver unbeatable performance and value.
In the 1980s, we opened our first battery manufacturing plant to produce Everstart Marine Batteries and Everstart Automotive Batteries. By controlling the manufacturing process, we could offer even higher quality at lower prices compared to other brands.
In the 1990s, Everstart Battery® went national. We opened new manufacturing plants and distribution centers to supply Everstart batteries to major retailers across the U.S. Our marine and automotive batteries were now available coast-to-coast, providing reliability and performance for customers everywhere.
Today, with over 50 years in business and state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities nationwide, Everstart Battery® continues advancing battery technology into the future.
